POSITION OVERVIEW:

Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected and innovative organization in their search for a Business Controller. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who wants to contribute from both a financial and operational perspective. You will have a significant stakeholder to drive impact in a growing business, lead critical financial functions, and help position the organization for long-term growth and operational success.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA) would be preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a full-cycle hands-on controllership role
  • Hands-on approach with strong experience in full-cycle accounting and financial operations
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement financial best practices
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on growth and operational efficiency
  • Experience in project-based industries such as construction, engineering, or field services is considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across the organization
Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations across multiple entities
  • Guide financial planning and analysis, including long- and short-term budgeting and forecasting
  • Develop and improve internal controls, financial reporting systems, and accounting processes
  • Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO and leadership team to support business growth
  • Manage weekly cash flow forecasting and financial modelling
  • Support project-based accounting, including costing, tracking variances, and monitoring work-in-progress
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and external partners to ensure compliance and support financing needs
  • Lead capital and fixed asset management across operating and holding companies
  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems, reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Payworks), and future ERP upgrades
  • Supervise a small but growing finance and admin team
