Responsible for the oversight of Colorado Gaming Control Board MICs, regulations and statutes, budget planning and financial strategizing for gaming departments for Colorado Properties. Oversees Cage, Accounting, Warehouse & Drop/Count Team. RESPONSIBILITIES: Hire, train, supervise and develop staff, including coaching, counseling and discipline. Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues. This includes the accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements for the property: cash flow statements, management of receivables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds. Monitor gaming revenues and gaming expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with Maverick’s established guidelines. Monitors and controls Casino and Hotel’s cash flow and operating forecast. Assist in creating annual budgets and monthly variance analysis. Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes. Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items. Review final financial statement for accuracy and completeness. Analyze financial data and operations in order to assist and advise management in maintaining financial objectives. Comply with Standard Accounting policies and procedures and internal controls for finance and accounting operations. Timely review and approval of gaming related balance sheet account Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel assets, master keys. Successful completion of all internal and external financial audits, including coordination of work with CPA firms and delivering information requested by auditors on a timely basis. Direct or prepare all financial reports in accordance with Maverick’s requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Salary $90,000 - $115,000 annually. Applications will be considered for ten days; post will expire 10/12 Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from Accredited College or University. Preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manager role. Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience as a Casino Controller and/or Senior Accountant. Maintain working knowledge of US GAAP. Strong understanding of GAAP accounting. Proficiency in MS Office required and strong MS Excel skills. Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central or related Accounting System preferable. Highly analytical with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required. Strong verbal and written communication. Knowledge of general ledger posting process and experience preparing and posting journal entries. Ability to work effectively and independently while managing concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
