Description Make an Impact as a Hands-On Controller in a Well-Established Company with 45+ Years of Success We are a growing small business located in Hauppauge, NY seeking a full-time hands-on Controller on-site to lead and strengthen our accounting and finance operations. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and tax compliance. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who excels at leading the full accounting function, optimizing ERP and financial reporting systems, implementing scalable processes, and collaborating directly with ownership and our external CPA firm. In this high-impact position, your leadership and improvements in accounting and financial management will have a direct influence on business growth and the company’s long-term strategy. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, credit management, supplier payments, payroll entries, and expense reporting Maintain general ledger (GL) integrity and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting schedules Optimize ERP and financial reporting systems, improve workflows, and enhance reporting efficiency Partner with external CPA firm on tax reporting, compliance, audits, and annual reviews Develop budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to support operational planning and growth initiatives Provide actionable financial insights and guidance to ownership to support informed decision-making Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering accountability and operational excellence Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience Minimum 3 years of accounting team leadership or supervisory experience Hands-on expertise with month-end close, general ledger (GL) management, reconciliations, and internal controls Experience partnering with external CPA firms for tax compliance and reporting Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes Proficiency with ERP systems (Sage preferred), Excel, and financial reporting or dashboard tools Strong communicator able to translate complex financial data for leadership and support strategic business decisions Ability to support business growth and scale accounting operations with revenue expansion Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills Why Join Us?
