Description
Description We are seeking an experienced Controller to take full ownership of the accounting function across GLOBALRx, Legere Pharmaceuticals, Brainchild, and affiliated brands. Reporting directly to the CCO and Chief of Staff, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the complete accounting cycle — from AP and AR through payroll, GL, reconciliations, month-end/year-end close, and financial reporting. This is not a siloed position; the right candidate has done it all and can manage the entire function independently. A significant portion of Legere's day-to-day accounting currently sits with senior leadership and must transition fully to this hire. The ideal Controller is highly organized, process-driven, and ready to build and own the accounting infrastructure for a growing pharmaceutical company family. Requirements Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance • Own and execute all accounting activities for GLOBALRx, Legere Pharmaceuticals, Brainchild, and affiliated brands — this is a full cycle Controller role, not a specialist function. • Prepare accurate and timely monthly P&L statements, balance sheets, and financial reports across all entities in compliance with GAAP. • Lead month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis across all entities. General Ledger & Operational Accounting • Manage and maintain the integrity of the general ledger; ensure proper coding and documentation of all entries. • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions across all affiliated companies. • Ensure seamless one-touch data entry accuracy and intercompany reconciliation. Systems Integration & ERP • Lead the integration of the accounting system (QuickBooks) with the company ERP (Odoo), ensuring clean data flow and reconciliation. • Oversee system configuration, data integrity, and user access across accounting platforms. • Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, workflows, and internal controls. SOP Development & Department Leadership • Build and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all accounting and finance department processes. • Directly manage and mentor at least one staff accountant, providing daily guidance, review, and professional development. • Establish internal controls and best practices to scale the department as the company grows. Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Analysis • Collaborate with leadership to develop, track, and adjust financial forecasts and annual budgets across all entities. • Conduct proactive KPI reporting and financial analysis to deliver insights supporting strategic business decisions. • Support pricing analysis and vendor/client financial negotiations with data-driven recommendations. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner cross-functionally with operations, HR, and sales teams to support company-wide financial goals. • Serve as a key financial contact for multiple affiliated legal entities, ensuring consistent reporting standards. Qualifications Required • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience • Full cycle accounting experience — end-to-end ownership of AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, month-end/year-end close, and financial reporting; candidates with experience limited to a single function will not be considered • Multi-entity accounting experience — must have managed books across at least two legal entities simultaneously • 2+ years of direct QuickBooks experience (required) • 2+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent senior leadership role • Prior experience in a standalone or owner-operator environment where you were the primary accountant is strongly valued • Demonstrated expertise in GAAP accounting and multi-entity financial reporting • Experience managing and developing at least one direct report • Proven track record building or improving accounting SOPs and internal controls • Experience integrating accounting software with an ERP system • Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros, and data slicing Preferred • Experience with Odoo or a comparable ERP platform • Background in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industry accounting • Familiarity with AI tools applied to accounting workflows (e.g., automated reconciliation, AI-assisted financial reporting, or data analytics tools) AI-Enabled Accounting We are a forward-thinking company that embraces technology as a competitive advantage. The ideal candidate is curious about — and actively uses — AI tools to streamline accounting processes. This may include AI-assisted reconciliation, automated report generation, anomaly detection, or prompt-based financial data analysis. Experience with tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Perplexity, or similar AI platforms in a professional accounting context is a meaningful plus. Core Competencies • Financial Ownership — Comfortable taking full end-to-end ownership of accounting across multiple legal entities with minimal oversight • Leadership & Development — Experience managing direct reports and building high-functioning, scalable accounting teams • Process Builder — Proven ability to create SOPs, document workflows, and establish robust internal controls from the ground up • Systems Proficiency — Hands-on with QuickBooks and ERP integration; comfortable driving system adoption across the organization • Analytical Thinking — Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to financial analysis and reporting • Adaptability — Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple entities and shifting priorities • Tech-Forward Mindset — Actively uses AI and automation tools to improve accounting efficiency, accuracy, and cycle times Compensation & Benefits • Base Salary: $100,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience • Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits (medical, dental, and vision) • Company-Sponsored 401(k) Plan • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Vacation • On-site position in Hillsborough, NC — Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM • Meaningful work with direct impact on global healthcare access Why Join Us? GLOBALRx has been connecting patients with essential medications since 1996. As we expand our portfolio — including Legere Pharmaceuticals, Brainchild, and additional affiliated brands — we need a Controller who is ready to own the entire accounting function and build the systems, processes, and team that will support long-term growth. This role offers high visibility with direct reporting to the CCO and Chief of Staff, meaningful leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to shape the finance infrastructure of a growing pharmaceutical organization.
Responsibilities
The Controller will take full ownership of the accounting function, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and payroll across multiple entities. They will also lead systems integration, develop standard operating procedures, and mentor staff to support the company's growth.
