Valley Farm Market is seeking a detail-driven Accounting & HR Manager to lead the financial and human resources functions across our multiple entities. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (multi-entity or retail/grocery experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Working knowledge of HR processes, payroll, and employment compliance
  • Experience with accounting software and payroll systems (QuickBooks, ADP, or similar)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and a proactive mindset
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This position will oversee accounting and HR responsibilities for several business entities under the Valley Farm Market umbrella, including retail, foodservice, and commissary operations. You’ll work closely with ownership and have the support of an administrative assistant to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, timely financial reporting, and efficient HR processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and execute accurate month-end close for multiple entities
  • Create journal entries for spoilage, internal department transfers, and other adjustments
  • Reconcile accounts and assist in preparing financial reports
  • Process weekly payroll and ensure compliance with federal and California labor laws
  • Handle employee onboarding and maintain HR documentation
  • Help implement new processes and improvements tied to our upgraded POS and reporting systems
  • Collaborate with ownership to clean up and structure detailed, accurate financials
