Description
Controller – Construction Industry At Pacifica Continental, we are seeking an experienced Controller to join a leading and rapidly expanding company in the construction sector. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and leading a high-performing accounting team across multiple business units. Key Responsibilities: Manage and supervise all accounting functions for the business units, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting, monthly closing, and integration within the CMiC system. Oversee financial forecasting, including Work in Progress (WIP) projections and other revenue and expense planning. Participate in contract reviews, project setup, billing structures, and client meetings as needed. Lead and develop a team of approximately 30 project accountants, working closely with HR and operational leadership to attract, retain, and mentor top talent. Work alongside senior management to craft and execute financial strategies that align with business growth objectives. Implement and enhance internal controls to optimize financial integrity and efficiency. Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes, consolidating financial data for strategic planning. Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights into company performance, income, expenses, and balance sheet management. Collaborate with the treasury team to support cash flow management, collections, and payment processes. Identify opportunities for process improvements, recommending best practices for financial operations. Assist in special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as directed by senior leadership. Supervise complex journal entries and ensure their accurate reflection across financial statements. Manage the annual external audit process and year-end financial reporting. Qualifications & Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role. Prior experience in project accounting is highly desirable. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Strong background in job costing and revenue recognition for construction companies. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and strong analytical abilities. Hands-on experience with integrated accounting systems. Familiarity with Procore construction software is a plus. On site job.
