Description Position Summary The Controller will be responsible for oversight and execution of the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, timely month-end/period-end closing, guidance and supervision of financial planning and analysis activities, as well as coordination and management of external audits. This leadership role manages key accounting functions including general ledger, payroll, revenue reconciliation, financial reporting, internal controls, budget alignment and supervision of accounting, FP&A and HR staff. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting Oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and reconciliations. Conduct revenue reconciliations and investigate variances as part of the closing process. This role would be responsible for the month-end and period-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial records are accurate. Prepare, review, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (e.g., cash, A/R, A/P, deferred revenue). Experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany reconciliations, and consolidated foreign entity reporting. Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relations. Background in working with external auditors and managing audit cycles. Utilize advanced accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations. Payroll & Compliance Oversee payroll accounting and processing; ensure accurate allocation and compliance with applicable laws. Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX (if applicable), and all regulatory requirements. Support external audits, tax filings, and other compliance reporting activities. Benefit administration and familiar with the Form 5500 compliance and filing Management & Internal Control Monitor and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records. Review accounting policies and recommend improvements for operational efficiency. Collaborate with other departments to gather information and ensure alignment with financial practices. Good understanding of nexus requirements and state tax compliance requirements is a plus Team Leadership Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team; ensure proper training and performance. Assign tasks, review work, and provide feedback to ensure quality and timeliness. Provide broad guidance and supervision to the FP&A team. Technical Skills Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proven experience with month-end close processes and reconciliations. Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (SAP HANA) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with migration between accounting systems Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Strong leadership capability with an ability to work cross-functionally Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance/MBA, CPA or CMA required. Preferably 8 years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibilities. Prior experience working in the online pharmacy / digital health industry and or other SAAS-based healthcare models will be a strong preference. Proven experience in taking a company from inception to exit will be considered a strong plus.
