Position summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to join our leadership team as Controller. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our growing institution, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, this position offers a clear path to becoming our next Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Key responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, fixed assets, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic financial planning initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior management and other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
  • Act as the primary liaison for financial statement audits and tax return preparation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with financial software, data analysis, and emerging technologies (e.g., RPA, AI) is a plus.
