Description:

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

· Excellent management and supervisory skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
· Prior experience with Quickbooks Online is required.
· Prior experience with systems integration and any type of Financial Planning & Analysis software (e.g. Power BI, Tableau etc) is required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
· Ten years or more of related experience required.
· Prior experience in the roofing industry is preferred but familiarity with construction accounting/work-in-progress/percentage of completion method is required
· Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
· Able to travel throughout the state

Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY / PRIMARY PURPOSE

The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include interpreting financial data, the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, payroll, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
The Controller will oversee the financial reporting and daily accounting function for a newly formed conglomerate comprised of three industry-leading roofing companies providing repair, replacement and maintenance services state-wide.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
· Provide ongoing training, evaluation, and measure performance

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
· Produces the annual budget and forecasts; provide a budget to actual variance analysis to management on a monthly basis. Update monthly and quarterly forecasts based on market conditions or other business drivers.
· Report on weekly metrics, cash flow forecasts and P&L flashes
· Oversee and manage the offshore/outsourced accounting team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of deliverables.
· Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
· Monitor AR and AP with the ultimate goal of improving freee cash flow
· Evaluate all manual processes and look for automated or technology-based solutions.
· Formalize a process to close the books within 10 business days after month-end.
· Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
· Implement overhead expense monitoring procedures and make recommendations as necessary
· Establish and maintain strong working relationships with each Company president; collaborate on solutions to cross-functional business problems.
· Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
· Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits.
· Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
