Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Controller is primarily responsible for monthly reporting and managing cash position. Controller assists Chief Financial Officer with dealership accounting practices and policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Processes and generates financial data for all dealership departments, which together represent the accurate financial condition of the business. Provides accurate reporting to Dealer/General Managers and CFO. Prepares a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer’s format and time frame. Controls all posted documents. Assist with reconciliations of assets/liabilities monthly. Approves adjustments to inventory and receivable accounts. Prints monthly journals, schedules and general ledger. Closes month by processing accounting month-end. Assists with completion of annual review/audit. Ensures compliance with all government regulations. Ensures the payoff of vehicle floor plan and works with bank representatives. Cross-trains a qualified substitute for position. Manage cash position. Continually strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealership. Requirements Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred collegiate business or accounting degree, preferred advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite. Must have at least 3-5 years of automotive dealership accounting experience. Must have at least one year of supervisory experience or equivalent.
Responsibilities
