We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy of accounting practices for our organization. Based in Markham, Ontario, this role requires someone with strong attention to detail who can manage reporting and budgeting effectively. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in IFRS and a track record of improving operational efficiency through strategic financial management.

• Oversee all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements in alignment with IFRS standards.
• Manage internal controls, ensuring effectiveness in safeguarding assets and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external and regulatory audits.
• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to provide strategic financial insights and scenario analysis to inform operational and strategic decisions.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all income and indirect taxes.
• Liaise with internal and external tax specialists, consultants, and regulators to ensure compliance with all tax requirements.
• Oversee regulatory filings, including MFDA/IIROC, OSC, and CRA submissions.
• Extensive experience in accounting and financial management, preferably within the financial services industry.
• CPA designation with a minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and Canadian taxation.
• Proven experience managing financial reporting, audits, and budgeting processes.
