Description

Robert Half Managment Resources is looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to oversee financial and accounting operations for a growing organization in the healthcare industry. This long-term contract position offers a unique opportunity to shape financial processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Based in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the role is ideal for professionals with a passion for leadership and financial excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise all accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, revenue recognition, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, delivering accurate financial statements in compliance with U.S. accounting standards.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams to ensure readiness for regulatory filings and audits.
  • Oversee the management and optimization of accounting systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with financial planning and analysis (FP& A) teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and investor reporting.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team to meet the growing needs of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and roles in startup or pre-IPO environments.
  • Expertise in technical accounting, U.S. GAAP compliance, and audit preparation.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or SaaS business models and their financial intricacies.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to implement and manage financial controls and processes in a fast-paced environment.
