CONTROLLER

This position will oversee all accounting functions of a general contracting firm with nationwide operations. They will manage a team of six personnel and play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial operations. Position may have potential to grow into the CFO role.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred, MBA a plus).
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounting with a preference for 2-3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and multi-state tax compliance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and development.
• Proficiency in accounting and financial software, with experience in ERP systems preferred.
• Experience with Sage 300 CRE and/or Sage Intact a plus.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and accountability.
• Effective communicator with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with outside partners such as banks and surety companies.
• Adaptable and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to hear, comprehend and speak.
• Ability to work with standard office equipment .
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
