We are a growing RV dealership dedicated to providing exceptional products, service, and experiences to our customers. With multiple departments including sales, service, parts, and finance, we pride ourselves on a strong team culture and operational excellence. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our leadership team and help drive financial performance and accountability across the dealership.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Controller is a key member of our management team responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the dealership. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all financial reporting while providing leadership and guidance to accounting staff at both our main and satellite locations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and experienced in dealership or retail accounting environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred but not required).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience; dealership, automotive, or retail industry experience is highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) or similar ERP/accounting software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and locations.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing staff.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, floorplanning, and general ledger.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Prepare complete year-end records and supporting documentation for submission to our Chartered Accounting firm.
  • Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.
  • Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with department managers (sales, service, parts, F&I) to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and improve profitability.
  • Provide oversight and support to the Junior Controller at our Red Deer location, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise accounting and administrative staff.
