CONTROLLER

Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for all aspects of the Club’s financial management, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, audit coordination, and oversight of human resources and payroll.
This role requires a strong leader who can mentor staff, partner with leadership on strategic decisions, and maintain the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
Experienced Controllers and Assistant Controllers are encouraged to apply.
After 20 years at SHC, our Controller will be retiring and will remain working through the transition.
The position reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with the Board President and Treasurer, as well as all department heads.
Key Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 5+ years of accounting experience; prior private club or hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Assistant Controllers are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical skills and Excel skills.
  • Excellent work ethic, leadership, and team management and skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel; familiarity with club management systems (Jonas, NorthStar, Clubessential) is a plus.
