Description

Strathmore Dodge, with over 30 dealerships, across Canada and the US is looking for an energetic, organized, accounting professional to join our team as the Financial Controller.

In this financial leadership role you will provide the organization with sound financial accounting direction and reporting, while seeking innovative ways to improve processes. You will provide pertinent and timely reporting to senior leadership while managing the financial position of the local dealerships through:

  • Accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting statements, financial position and budgetary updates;
  • Creation and maintenance of an annual budget, business plan and financial forecasts;
  • Preparation of ongoing GL and journal entries to manage cash, A/R and A/P;

Maintaining all records on company transactions, purchases, inventory, transfers and assets;

  • Providing ongoing coaching and mentoring of the Assistant Controller;
  • Preparing & processing government remittances and reporting;
  • Ensuring payable invoices are processed to maximize discounts taken and paid within established parameters;
  • Documenting monthly bank reconciliations and processing deposits;

Preparing accurate balance sheets, income statements sheets, reconciliations and month end/ year-end adjustments to support the month end/year-end financial statements;

  • Actively participating in management meetings, analyzing information pertaining to accounting, financial and administration, advising of anomalies and suggesting solutions.
