SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • In-depth knowledge of dealership accounting practices and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and internal control principles.
  • Utmost respect for handling confidential, sensitive information
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations on business issues
  • Detail oriented and deadline driven
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience in an accounting oversight role
  • Previous experience in a dealership environment is desired, but not mandatory
  • Previous experience using a Dealer Management Software (DMS) like PBS, Reynolds, desired but not mandatory
  • Pursuing accounting designation strongly preferred (CPA)
  • Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, and/or finance

Responsibilities
  • Overlook and assist the Accounting department/team (Sales Deal Administrators and AP/AR Clerk), ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely, accurate manner
  • Manage relationships with various suppliers and venders
  • Reconcile bank accounts with various supplies and vendors
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to payables, receivables, accruals, inventory and capital assets
  • Maintain and enhance systems of controls over accounting transactions
  • Calculate variances front the budget/forecast/prior year and report significant issues to management
  • Provide financial analyses as needed on variances
  • Comply with all industry regulations and process set out by Ford Motor Company and other financial institutions
  • Preparing and submitting all monthly statements to manufacture
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure integrity of financial information
  • Remit all provincial and federal reporting requirements
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to identify and address areas of improvement
