DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller with extensive experience in the federal government contracting industry and proficiency in UNANET ERP. This role will review / oversee all financial activities, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, accurate reporting, and effective financial management across government contracts. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements, and be able to manage project accounting functions while optimizing the use of UNANET.

REQUIRED SKILLS /EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA Preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with 3+ years in federal government contracting.
  • Strong expertise in using UNANET ERP for accounting and project management.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal regulations, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance.
  • Experience managing financial operations for multiple government contracts, including cost analysis, indirect rate calculations, and audit preparation.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a finance team.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including general ledger, project accounting, cost allocations, and monthly financial reporting in compliance with federal regulations.
  • UNANET ERP Expertise: Manage and enhance the use of UNANET for accounting, timekeeping, budgeting, and expense management, ensuring seamless integration with contract requirements and financial reporting processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA audit requirements, and other federal regulations, managing internal controls and procedures to meet all audit standards.
  • Project Accounting: Manage the full life cycle of government contracts from a financial perspective, including project set-up, revenue recognition, cost allocation, invoicing, and budget tracking.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with government contracting standards.
  • Cost Analysis & Pricing: Provide detailed cost analysis and ensure appropriate pricing for contracts, including direct and indirect cost pools, billing rates, and overhead structures.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, providing financial forecasts, analysis, and reports to support executive decision-making and project management teams.
  • Audit Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all financial audits, including DCAA audits, and ensure the organization meets all regulatory audit requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance financial reporting accuracy.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, compliance, and high performance.
