About the Client PromptPeople is hiring for a fast-growing, high-performance services business supporting enterprise clients in the U.S. The company is scaling quickly and needs a finance leader who can own the full finance function, bring order to complexity, and build systems that make the business audit-ready at all times. This is not a bookkeeper role. It’s for a high-caliber finance operator who thinks like a CFO, executes like an elite controller, and builds infrastructure that scales. Why This Role Exists The business needs someone to fully own finance end-to-end: close, reporting, controls, cash, payroll coordination, AP/AR, systems, process design, and financial clarity for leadership. Over time, this person can help build and lead a finance team. What You’ll Own (Responsibilities) Finance ownership & close Own full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, payroll coordination, treasury, month-end close, reporting, reconciliations Maintain a clean general ledger with monthly reconciliations for every account Ensure GAAP-compliant financials with strong documentation and discipline Controls, structure & audit-readiness Build and enforce internal controls, approval workflows, and accountability systems Create accounting calendars, checklists, SOPs, and standardized processes Maintain an audit-ready posture: organized support, clean trails, consistent policy application Reporting & business insight Deliver monthly/quarterly financial statements with commentary and variance analysis Build dashboards for KPIs: cash, margins, labor metrics, budget vs actual, trends Translate numbers into operational insight and action for leadership Systems & automation Optimize and integrate tools (QuickBooks, Ramp, payroll systems, AP automation) Reduce manual work through process redesign, templates, and integrations Improve data integrity across finance workflows Cash, forecasting & strategic finance Manage cash daily and create short and mid-term cash forecasts Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department owners Build models (3-statement, scenario/what-if, ROI, headcount/labor models, unit economics) Tax & external partners Coordinate tax packages and filings with external CPAs; ensure organized readiness year-round Understand core US tax concepts and multi-state exposure (as relevant) Vendor management & compliance Manage vendor onboarding (W-9s, 1099s, COIs, renewals), invoice validation, and procurement controls Longer-term leadership Help hire, train, and manage remote/offshore finance support as the company scales What Success Looks Like First 60–90 days Close is consistent and reliable, with reconciled accounts and clean reporting Core workflows and controls are documented, repeatable, and enforced Leadership has clarity on cash, margin, labor, and key operational drivers 6–12 months Scalable finance infrastructure exists: approvals, SOPs, dashboards, forecasting cadence Fewer surprises, better decisions driven by financial intelligence Foundations in place to build a finance team around you Requirements Proven ownership of full-cycle accounting and month-end close in a fast-paced environment Strong command of US GAAP fundamentals (accruals, deferrals, prepaids, amortization, reconciliations) Experience building controls, workflows, SOPs, and scalable finance processes Strong financial reporting skills (statements + narrative + variance + insight) Hands-on systems experience (QuickBooks and modern finance stack preferred) High integrity, discretion, and comfort handling sensitive information Proactive “see it, fix it, systemize it” operating style Excellent English communication (written + verbal) Nice to Have Multi-state complexity, services businesses, payroll-heavy environments M&A / diligence exposure (QoE support, data room prep, integrations) Benefits 100% remote USD compensation PTO (paid time off) Local holidays Direct work with the leadership team High ownership and autonomy Fast-paced environment with real impact Growth opportunity as the company scales
