VICE PRESIDENT OF ACCOUNTING / CORPORATE CONTROLLER

Location: Remote (East Coast candidates only)
Industry: SaaS | Private Equity-Backed | Revenue: $50M–$100M
We are currently partnered with a high-growth, Private Equity-backed SaaS company headquartered on the East Coast in search of a dynamic and proven Vice President of Accounting / Controller. This fully remote leadership role presents a compelling opportunity to play a pivotal role in scaling an already successful organization through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The VP of Accounting will report directly to the CFO and serve as a key member of the finance leadership team. This highly visible role will oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including financial reporting, revenue recognition, compliance, and M&A integration. The ideal candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, with a track record of building and leading high-performing accounting teams in a scaling SaaS environment. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the full-cycle accounting function, including general ledger, AP/AR, revenue recognition, and period-end close
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, audit, and internal controls
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third parties
  • Integrate acquired entities into the accounting function and systems
  • Evaluate and implement scalable accounting systems, tools, and processes
  • Partner with FP&A to align actuals with forecasts and support business planning
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a team of 3–5 accounting professionals
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CFO on all accounting matters

Qualifications:

  • CPA required
  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in public accounting/audit
  • Deep understanding of SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606)
  • Prior experience in a PE-backed, fast-growing technology or software company
  • Demonstrated success building scalable teams and processes in a high-growth environment
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/Accounting systems implementation and optimization
  • Strong M&A integration experience
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically

Additional Details:

  • Remote Role: Candidates must reside in the Eastern Time Zone (East Coast, US only)
  • Travel: Quarterly travel to company headquarters
