CONTROLLER

Job Location-Fully Remote local to the DMV
Overview:
Varada Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced Corporate Financial Analyst with expertise in Deltek systems. This role involves managing daily accounting operations, including government contract accounting, financial reporting, general ledger reconciliation, and cost accounting. The Corporate Financial Analyst will work closely with executive leadership and report directly to the Director Of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable/receivable and general ledger functions.
  • Process monthly payroll for approximately 50 employees.
  • Coordinate with external tax professionals, CPA firms, insurance agents, and retirement plan TPAs for audits and compliance.
  • Conduct budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Prepare monthly/yearly closings and financial statements.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Process and remit payroll tax payments.
  • Utilize Deltek software for accounting and payroll tasks.
  • Review and file payroll documents.
  • Assist with other accounting projects as needed.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ experience utilizing CostPoint.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting, tax laws, and government contracting processes.
  • Experience with CPFF, T&M, and FFP contract types.
  • Minimum of 3+ years government contracting experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years in Accounting / Payroll and Finance
  • Familiarity with public accounting and online payroll processing.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP revenue recognition rules.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis/reporting and EVMS techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of FAR/DFAR, DCAA, DCMA, and CAS regulations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with aerospace or defense industries preferred
  • Certified Public Account (CPA) (optional)
