Description

Summary: Provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing and budget management functions. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles. This position is responsible for the management of the accounting and financial functions of the business as well as the accounting staff. These responsibilities include management of both internal staff and outside resources to accomplish accurate and timely monthly financial statements, cash management, banking relations and financial analysis to enhance the overall reporting and understanding of the financial health of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following: Duties may be modified or additional duties assigned.

  • Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies.
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Ensure local, state and federal compliance as it relates to financial reporting.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
  • Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to maximize the company’s cash cycle.
  • Development and preparation of key financial metrics to measure the performance of the business on a daily/weekly/monthly/annual basis.
  • Develop an annual forecast based on the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the development of the company’s cost structure and analysis of job/customer variances.
  • Assist Human Resources in the review of payroll.
  • Provide Support to Human Resources related to the corporate 401k plan and related compliance; file 5500.
  • Manage risk management, specifically ensuring adequate corporate insurance coverage and premium management.
  • Oversee management of inventory and assist with management of customer inventory programs.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual financial review with the company’s outside accounting firm.
  • Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objective, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a member of the management team providing financial input and education to the rest of the team.
  • All other duties and special projects as assigned or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets and product-line profitability analysis.
  • 8-10 years of previous operational manufacturing Controller experience required.
  • 8-10 years of management experience preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of public accounting experience and CPA preferred.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Accounting Software and an ERP system, preferably JobBOSS.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
  • Work requires willingness to work overtime as needed to support the business.
