POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller is responsible for the full accounting duties of TLD Wollard and management of the accounting team. The Controller will need to be a hands-on and versatile individual with a high-level of analytic ability. This individual will support the TLD Wollard Chief Operating Officers and will report to the regional CFO.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field of study required
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar position, as Controller of a service or industrial division in the business-to-business sector
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor/Baan a plus)
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee full accounting responsibilities, including AR, AP, cost controlling, monthly closing, GL
  • Monthly reporting (P&L and balance sheet) including sales, margin, and indirect cost analysis
  • Monthly variance analysis
  • Construct annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Lead the day to day operations of the accounts payable, general accounting, and cost accounting functions
  • Assign duties and examine the work of subordinates for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership, development, and direction to the accounting staff, including providing technical guidance and training as required
  • Cost control of material and indirect spending
  • Control of inventory valuation, financial processes, Group rules, and procedures
  • Manage and oversee compliance with local, state, and federal government tax reporting requirements and support completion of appropriate tax filings
  • Be a key user in the ERP system (Infor/Baan) DMS#5177 rev 1
  • Coordinate semi-annual financial audits
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting at all times
  • Develop relationships with business units to expedite workflow and ensure appropriate accounting treatment
  • Identify process improvements and recommend changes to improve systems, processes, and performance
  • Other assignments as designated by Manager(s)
