The Automotive Dealership Controller is responsible for overseeing the dealership’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the dealership’s growth and profitability. This role involves managing the accounting team, monitoring financial performance, and implementing effective financial controls.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT AREN’T LIMITED TO:

  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Prepares financial statements monthly according to dealership and OEM guidelines.
  • Interprets the financial statements and the daily operating control (DOC) regularly and informs the dealership President of developing trends.
  • Provides General Managers and department managers with detailed financial and management reports.
  • Assists with preparing short- and long-term financial forecasts for the dealership.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Manages the dealership computer system to maximize utilization. Additionally supports all IT functions of the company.
  • Travel between dealerships, as necessary
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
