Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Controllership Senior Associate to join our APAC controllership team in Singapore, reporting to the Controllership Director, APAC Corporate Accounting. This role will support the financial reporting, analysis, and compliance functions while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information across our Asia Pacific operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist, coordinate and consolidate closing and reporting of Asia Pacific results working with global, local and JBS teams
Support analysis of APAC balance sheet and/or Profit & Loss against past results
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Assist in the preparation of quarterly management reporting packages
Support statutory and regulatory reporting requirements in APAC
Analyze and review new, amended, and/or terminated lease contracts and verify accounting is in line with ASC842 guidance
Internal Controls & Compliance
Responsible for the coordination and review of our control environment and accounts reconciliation
Monitor compliance with Global and Regional financial and operating policies and procedures
Coordinate and oversee elements of our external audit and internal audit(s)
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements
Support implementation of new accounting systems and tools
Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives
Contribute to the development of best practices and standard procedures
Work closely with countries to identify opportunities to streamline processes and to be a valued business partner
Requirements
Knowledge and experience in controllership practices and procedures with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or similar role
Experience in a regional role
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
Experience with financial reporting tools and databases
Effective communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and support project management initiatives
Strong understanding and experience in the preparation of the financial reporting and knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS differences is preferred.
Solves complex problems; takes a new or creative perspective using existing solutions while driving to fix the ultimate root causes
Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail which successfully lead to managing multiple priorities and completing objectives while dealing with evolving requirements
Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle PeopleSoft, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
