  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, Systems, or similar)
  • 2-3 Experience in the Automotive Industry
  • Experience with control system theory and Simulink modeling
  • Experience developing and executing test cases in various environments
  • Experience with embedded controller hardware, software, and communications
  • Experience with Automation Testing Methods
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, interfacing with GM engineers globally
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Ability to travel to the United States

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Low Voltage Infrastructure Team within the Embedded Platform Systems & Infrastructure organization is focused on the development of systems and controls centered around on-vehicle low voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, distribution, and consumption on ICE, EV and PHEV vehicle platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of hardware and software testing related to embedded controls and OBDII regulatory requirements for the Low Voltage Power Systems (LVPS) . This position involves a combination of analytical, in-vehicle and laboratory analysis, along with related performance verification to ensure robust execution of diagnostic and controls features in the Low Voltage Power System (LVPS )

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop or lead others in developing comprehensive test plans related to hardware and software to support OBDII compliant controls and diagnostic strategies and algorithms for emissions related comprehensive components and smart devices in the LVPS, with a specific focus on the 12V Battery and Battery Management Systems.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplined engineering teams to understand functional requirements and implement appropriate test plans and setup.
  • Execution or leading others in execution of test plans using SIL, HIL, and in-vehicle techniques
  • Develop project management plans, manage timing
  • Oversee the fabrication of bench properties or test equipment such as harnesses, breakout boxes or Fault Insertion Units.
  • Development of Automated Fault Insertion testing methodologies
  • Execution of the Diagnostic Operation Evaluation (DOE) testing of 12V Battery for verification of compliance to OBDII Regulations & Diagnostic Robustness.
  • Analyze and peer review test results and participate in data-driven system development initiatives.
  • Trouble shooting test setup and initial root cause analysis of issues found during testing.
  • Warranty analysis of diagnostic performance in the field to identify and escalate emerging issues.
  • Closely work with internal / external stakeholders and lead/participate in anomalies reporting / resolution activities.
  • Support the development of Behavioural Test Specifications (BTSs)
  • Leveraging BTS to development and execute BDDU and BDDBot Scripts.
  • Support Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) related planning and work acceptance meetings
  • Support OBD Development Engineer in the development of OBD regulations requirements as applicable.
  • Support the development of Safety Requirements as applicable.
  • Support diagnostic calibration development.
  • Support peripheral meetings with Product Team Members, FSAs, other SSLEs, and Systems Engineers as necessary.
  • Occasional Travel as required.
