Description

We are hiring experienced Controls Engineers for 12-18 month contract positions.
The position is based in the metro-Detroit area but up to 30% travel will be required.
A MINIMUM of 2 years of hands-on Rockwell Controls WORK experience required (Time spent in training and/or class does not qualify as work experience).
Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
Mandatory experience/knowledge programming and integrating production lines with robots.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Thorough knowledge of PLC, HMI and Robotic integration utilizing Rockwell/Allen-Bradley controls hardware.
  • Extensive commissioning experience.
  • Hardware and Software design experience.
  • Build experience is a definite asset.
  • Position requires travel to customer’s locations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong knowledge of control system design principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, and C++
  • Experience with signal processing techniques and algorithms
  • Familiarity with EPlan and CAD software for electrical design
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and components
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members

    Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Responsibilities
  • Assist with electrical and software design when required.
  • Start-up, debug and troubleshooting of robotic automation equipment at the Build Shop and customer’s site.
  • Throughput enhancement at customer’s site.
  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for various industrial applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and specifications
  • Create and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software
  • Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of control systems to ensure proper functionality
  • Develop and maintain documentation for control system designs, including manuals and technical specifications
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production teams during system integration and commissioning
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in control system technologies
