Controls Engineer The Opportunity: Serve as a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer in the public works branch in support of the Marine Corps as part of larger Force Design 2030 initiatives. Maintain responsibility for providing expert-level technical advice on the planning and programming requirements for the design and construction of existing facilities repair and alteration projects. Perform site investigations, evaluate conditions of existing systems, and provide reports and recommendations in correcting deficiencies. Plan and direct execution of communications designs for various types of facilities, including structures unique to military use that are of considerable size, complexity, and extent. Review design documents produced by other service engineering teams or private architect-engineer firms. Coordinate with architects and engineers in other specialized fields concerning work in architectural, electrical, civil, mechanical, communications, and electronic security systems, and environmental and industrial hygiene requirements. You Have: 3+ years of experience in the communications engineering field 3+ years of experience with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design 3+ years of experience providing expert-level communications engineering guidance in state-of-the-art designs, engineering and scientific concepts, and modern technologies Knowledge of communications and controls engineering concepts, principles, and practices for the full range of duties concerned with the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of facilities normally found on military installations Knowledge of remote communications, controls, and monitoring systems planning and execution requirements for upgrading diverse, highly complex projects, including headquarters buildings, large automotive maintenance shops, aviation maintenance shops, community centers, education centers, or dining facilities Ability to travel up to 25% of the time Ability to obtain a Secret clearance Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, Network Engineering, or Systems Engineering CompTIA Security+ Certification Nice If You Have: Experience with Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS), including the design, integration, and communication requirements for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Experience expanding FRCS and associated networked systems, including all hardware and software equipment, components, and applications are effectively and properly operating through identification and implementation of maintenance, repair, and optimization Experience modifying FRCS systems and components to ensure they are properly incorporated into the total system for correct functionality and continued authority to operate Experience providing technical advice to the command for expansion and improvement of FRCS, including AMI system and components Experience developing and providing training to maintenance, operations, and other personnel as necessary to increase in-house capabilities regarding FRCS, including AMI systems and components Experience assisting in proactive management, utilization, and analysis of data collected by the FRCS system, including technical advice to GIS programmers Experience integrating third party vendor applications into the FRCS and associated networked systems, including AMI, and developing and integrating customized applications Experience maintaining smart meter data systems, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), AMI systems, and all other meters connected to the AMI systems, so they remain in operatable conditions Ability to read and write in the Japanese language Secret clearance Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
