Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: Dynamis ElectroQuip Manufacturing - Houston, TX 77049 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Shift: Day Controls Engineer Job Description Department: Engineering Job Status: Full-Time FLSA Status: Salary-Exempt Reports To: Electrical Controls Engineering Manager Location: Houston, TX Amount of Travel Required: 15-25% Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Positions Supervised: None AIP Level: 6 POSITION SUMMARY: The Controls Engineer primarily works with controls system design and implementation for power generation packages and other auxiliary systems. The person in this position will assist with engineering, fabrication and operations of different industrial systems including power generation, gas processing systems and battery storage systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.") Engineers and designs control systems for various industrial system applications. Including but not limited to software design, hardware design, instrumentation design, DC distribution design and low voltage AC distribution design. Manages new unit builds, turbine, reciprocating engines, battery systems etc. with regards to controls systems and DC distribution design. Develops, commissions, and tests new unit equipment. Serves as the liaison between shop personnel and engineering. Ensures equipment meets applicable codes and standards. Aids operations with the installation and commissioning of power generation, auxiliary systems. and battery storage systems. Redlines and markups of drawings. Assists with new product development. Manages the development package manuals relating to controls systems. Aids in development of training program for field personnel. Evaluates new product offerings from vendors. Serves as QA/QC for controls components installed on new units. Serves as support fo field units when required. Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity. Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude, and/or competency assessment(s). Possesses a valid U.S. Driver's License. Employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy. Daily in-person, predictable attendance. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL 0-4 years of previous electrical/controls engineering experience. Knowledge of Equipment controls and logic. Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology + relevant experience will be considered. Woodward Controls Systems, GE Controls, or Siemens controls software experience preferred. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate in a technical manner with clients. Ability to interpret electrical/controls drawings. Ability to work within a team concept to successfully complete assigned tasks. Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups. Proficient in Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook). Knowledge of GE and other gas turbine related controls programs preferred.
