REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with coursework in controls.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 1–5 years in manufacturing process controls.
  • New graduates with relevant internship experience will be considered.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of classical control theory, including PID loop tuning and analysis.
  • Familiarity with advanced process control technologies (MPC, non-linear, cascade, feed-forward control).
  • Programming experience in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Controls-oriented modeling (system identification).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Results-oriented and self-motivated with excellent time management.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Programming experience with Python, C++, or .NET languages (C#, Visual Basic).
  • Experience or interest in PLC/IEC programming (ladder logic, structured text).
  • Familiarity with multivariate statistical process control methods (PCA, PLS).
  • Experience implementing and tuning MPC systems.
  • Prior work in cross-functional and global teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Process Controls Engineer I to support the development of new manufacturing processes and optimize existing processes to drive efficiency and plant profitability. This role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact across diverse business areas by implementing advanced process control technologies in dynamic manufacturing environments.
Ideal candidates will have strong technical curiosity, experience with process control theory, and a desire to take on challenging technical problems while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement classical and advanced process control solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop in-depth process knowledge and identify new control opportunities.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing control strategies to increase efficiency, yields, and throughput.
  • Implement advanced model-based control algorithms such as Model Predictive Control (MPC).
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to define hardware/software platforms for control solutions.
  • Support technology transfer to manufacturing and provide training to engineering and plant personnel.
  • Generate intellectual property through reports, invention disclosures, and patent applications.
