  • Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Control related preferable)
  • Experience in BMS is a must have
  • Able to work together with other team members closely to ensure proper coordination and simultaneous execution of controls projects
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines with good communication skills, team oriented and has common sense on problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision but in a structured environment. Must be willing to travel across Malaysia if required
  • Having knowledge of HVAC control systems and MS functions /system will be a plus
  • Having one/two years of relevant experience in BMS related systems will be a plus
  • Understanding of BMS systems (design, execution, T&C, troubleshooting), energy efficiency requirements (green mark standard / LEEDS etc) will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Controls Engineer, you’ll be reporting to the Deputy Controls Manager, and be responsible in executions of controls projects (building management systems/ chiller management systems/ energy management systems) and other solutions-based projects that may consist of other HVAC equipment.
Overall, the role demands a positive attitude individual who can work independently with proper guidelines given have interest in building controls system. Good coordination skills with various party internally and externally is of important criteria as to ensure smooth project execution in time and within cost budget allocated to complete the project. Having some basis understanding on electrical and controls knowledge will be helpful. The ability to communicate with related parties when issue arise with client or subcontractor will be key to achieve successful project completion in specified timelines with all required documentation procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Controls Engineer — Project, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Achieve the project delivery target timeline.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered according to design and plan, while also ensuring quality of work
  • Provide training to customers on the usage of equipment/system and prepare submission of documents such as schedules, method statements, drawings, operation manuals, and other necessary documents based on the project requirements.
  • Provide customer service to building owners, consultants, and end-users to improve solution sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills to facilitate productive collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Thrive in a team environment, actively contributing to the team’s success and fostering a cooperative atmosphere
  • Engage in and support all team-building activities, including training sessions, promotions, and cross-functional/departmental initiatives as needed
  • Collaborate with project teams to define control system requirements and specifications
  • Configure and fine-tune control algorithms for HVAC, lighting, security, and other building systems (depends type of projects)
