Foresight Automation is looking to hire a Sr. Controls / Automation Engineer for our Fort Worth location.    Foresight Automation designs and builds custom automated industrial machinery, robotic assembly/test systems, data acquisition systems, industrial control panels and much more. In this role, you will not be stuck on a multi-year project or working on the same thing over and over for an OEM. You will be designing a wide range of complete machines and control systems which will keep the job interesting and allow you to quickly grow your application expertise. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of prior work experience in most of the following areas: electrical control systems design and drawing, PLC system design, PLC programming, HMI programming and electrical systems troubleshooting experience. The candidate must have AutoCAD Electrical experience to be considered for this role. Responsibilities As a senior member of our engineering staff, you will: * Participate in the pre-sales effort by working directly with sales team and customers to identify scope of work, technical requirements, technical and commercial risks, schedule expectations, resource requirements, etc. This may include phone calls, emails, video conferences and spending time at customer sites for job walks, in-person meetings, presentations, equipment/process reviews, etc. * Study detailed specification documents and drawings to understand project requirements * Use your knowledge of commercially available hardware and software to research, evaluate, select and apply a wide variety of industrial control system components. * Develop initial control system design concepts * Design control systems according to customer requirements while taking into consideration multiple competing constraints such as cost, time, component availability, physical space, labor availability and skill, uptime and reliability requirements, performance requirements, etc. * Design control system safety circuits according to application need and current standards * Create bills of material for your designs including engineering and assembly labor time estimates  * Use AutoCAD Electrical to create enclosure and Backpanel layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, network diagrams, conduit schedules, etc. * Provide guidance to panel shop assemblers as they construct your project. Promptly address and resolve any issues that arise. Keep drawing changes up to date * Perform in-house final testing before delivery. Participate in factory acceptance testing when needed. * Occasionally provide installation, start-up, and technical support at a customer site * Be a leader within our electrical design team by mentoring other employees, providing solid engineering advice and guidance based on your experience, helping to set work standards, etc.   Core Requirements B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics or similar) from an accredited program. Minimum 5 years experience designing industrial control systems using PLC’s, HMI’s, AC/DC/Servo Drives, sensors, safety devices, etc. Proficient using AutoCAD Electrical to draw enclosure layouts and system schematics  Ability to design, program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI hardware Strong knowledge of electrical equipment and components used in automated machinery and industrial control systems Knowledge of safety system components, circuit design practices and relevant standards Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts both verbally and in writing Proficient with Windows-based applications such as Word and Excel Strong work ethic and attention to detail a must Ability to multitask, set priorities and manage time efficiently Must be authorized to work in the United States Preferred Skills Ability to program/troubleshoot Siemens, Modicon, Mitshubishi, KOYO, Unitronix, WAGO and other brand PLC hardware a plus Knowledge of UL508A control panel design practices Experience integrating ABB or FANUC robots with PLC’s.    Familiarity with Keyence or Cognex machine vision systems Experience working on EPC projects, writing control narratives, submitting RFI’s, Change Orders, etc. Job Type: Full-time, 8-hour days M-F. Responsibilities
