WHAT TOLEDO TOOL & DIE CAN OFFER YOU: Weekly pay 10 paid holidays Paid Time Off 401k Full benefits (medical, dental, vision) WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT FOR THIS POSITION: Previous experience in Controls Strong work ethic Positive attitude Consistent attendance Willingness to learn Safety minded KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing support in operations as a Controls Engineer which can include duties such as: Complete design of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls systems for new and retrofit equipment to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements. Understand, support, and program complete PLC, HMI, network devices and related hardware for new equipment installations. Confer with TTD Leadership, customers, vendors and/or suppliers to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products. Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for manufacturing purposes. Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment and support new program equipment launch activity as it relates to startup, debug, and achieving performance objectives. Use computer-based engineering software and equipment: (PLC and HMI programs, Motion Control programs, PC based programs, CAD based programs). Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications. Investigate customer complaints, determine the nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures. Plan or implement research methodology or procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear. Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above. Requirements EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Required – Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering or equivalent field Prefer 1-2 years of Controls experience. Prefer 1-2 years experience with Allen-Bradley Processors or equivalent, Fanuc Robotics, Panasonic Robots other devices and/or equipment used in the manufacturing process of a high-volume production facility. GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions by considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources Meet or exceed the job requirements of the job. Ability to work with employees from many different cultures and backgrounds. Preference will be given to qualified local candidates. SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Ability to work with the following software packages or programs: Microsoft Office at an advanced level Microsoft Project at an intermediate level AB PLC and HMI programming software at an advanced level Siemens PLC and HMI programming software at an advanced level Fanuc and Motoman programming languages at an advanced level Effective email and electronic communication skills are required Ability to work with the following tools or machinery Digital Multi-meter Oscilloscope Network Analyzer
Responsibilities
