Description The Controls Engineering Intern will support the migration of our current Wonderware SCADA system to Ignition design. This role provides hands-on experience in PLC programming, process control, SCADA Programing and system integration. The primary focus of this internship will be supporting the Wonderware to Ignition data conversion initiative and assisting with entry-level controls tasks related to the ignition project. Key Responsibilities Assist with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley platforms preferred). Support configuration and data entry for Ignition system updates and conversions. Help maintain and optimize automation systems including SCADA. Support troubleshooting of control systems, industrial communication networks, and operator interface devices. Assist with documentation of control system configurations and project updates. Work with cross-functional teams to support automation-related projects and continuous improvement efforts. Ensure work aligns with ISO standards and quality management protocols. Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical , Controls, Automation Engineering, Industrial controls technician or a related field. Strong interest in industrial automation and process control. Basic understanding of PLCs, HMI systems, and industrial electrical systems. Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs, SCADA systems, or Wonderware software is a plus. Exposure to industrial networking protocols (Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus) preferred but not required. Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and collaborate with technical teams. Experience with work processor and spreadsheets. This internship provides meaningful exposure to real-world controls engineering within a heavy industrial environment. The role is structured to build foundational automation expertise while directly contributing to critical initiatives, including the Wonderware data conversion and Ignition system upgrades.
