REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
  • Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate Degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
  • Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
  • Ability to navigate and integrate into a variety of building automation systems.
  • Expert with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.
  • Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Controls Service Field Engineer, you will help advance ALC’s business through helping expand our Aftermarket Services on advanced systems. We are looking for a team member who is self-motivated, detail oriented, customer focused, and acts as a role model for other field engineers. You will work to solve complex problems, lead the training of less experienced Field Service Engineers, and serve as a contact in the field as a product and technical expert.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
  • Provide solutions to complex system problems and lead others on how to resolve problems.
  • Local contact for technical issues, may coach and resolve issues either on site or through remote coaching.
  • Perform system maintenance on field controllers, servers and workstations and field hardware.
  • Communicate issues and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and/or repairs.
  • Maintains feedback of equipment scheduling and modifications needed.
  • Manage assigned work to exceed customer’s time and quality expectations.
  • Communicate and document the status and details of the project with the customer.
  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the upgrades/service.
