Description Job Description The Controls Systems Specialist II responsibilities include but not limited to performing startup functions of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems based on engineered documents, project plans, specifications, and other contract documents. Assisting Controls Engineer with design layout, materials, and information flow in multiple BMS platforms (e.g., Niagara AX/N4, Distech, JCI FX, Honeywell) with ability to migrate communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus and LonWorks. Ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and timely. Provide project engineering support as required. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced, agile environment and stay on the cutting edge of technologies and strategies. Travel is required. Requirements · Startup of control and HVAC systems. · Checkout and Point-To-Point of DDC control components. · Execute field changes/directives. · Commissioning of control and HVAC systems. · Troubleshooting components and equipment problems. · Control program use, including - Trend Logs, Zones, Alarms, Reports, Backups, Minor DDC code modifications. · Field documentation control (As-builts, Check-out Sheets, Panel Closeout Drawings). · Manage time to complete assignments on time and on budget. · Consistent and clear communication with internal and external customers. · Ensure completeness of work performed. · Assist Controls Project Managers/ Controls Engineers with field tasks and coordination. · Training – Owners and Peers. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Hands on experience with programming and hardware. • Strong troubleshooting skills. • Knowledge of HVAC DDC controls theory and applications. • Experience working with debugging tools, analyzers, and other related resources. • Proven ability to read diagrams related to schematic controls. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong skills in collaboration and communication. Must be able to work with teams and use customer feedback to the advantage of the final product’s optimization. Education and Experience • AA Degree in Applied Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree, a plus. • 4 plus years of experience in automation and controls.
