Description

GreenXT is seeking skilled and adaptable Controls System Engineers to support lifecycle activities for Machinery Control Systems (MCS) deployed across the USS Arleigh Burke class of destroyers.
This role blends hands on engineering expertise with systems level insight, encompassing both fielded configurations and the development of next generation systems. Candidates with experience or interest in PLC based industrial control systems and embedded technologies are encouraged to apply.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain this clearance upon position acceptance) will be required
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in industrial control systems, preferably with shipboard or embedded environments.
  • Familiarity with PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)
  • Ability to read schematics, use diagnostic and test tools, and draft technical documentation.
  • This position requires the candidate to travel at least 20% of the time.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lifecycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes:
  • Provide Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) design support for the integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment.
  • Provide technical input to the design of future Machinery Control System (MCS) systems
  • Develop, derive and refine system and software requirements for future fielded systems
  • Troubleshooting complex problems of future fielded systems (PLC based control systems) bot at Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) and shipboard
  • Review of technical documentation related to future fielded systems
  • Provide test support at LBES
  • Provide shipboard Software and Hardware installation support
  • Develop and review technical documentation that includes, but is not limited to, requirements documents, design documents, test procedures, test plans, installation procedures, engineering analysis, and standard operating procedures
  • Provide distance and on-site customer support as necessary

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide engineering support for Machinery Controls Systems, including shipboard and land-based installations.
  • Develop and refine software and hardware requirements involving PLC based systems.
  • Perform system integration and troubleshooting in both field and lab environments.
  • Support hardware and software installations, testing and upgrades at LBES and shipboard locations.
  • Review technical documentation and contribute to test procedures to validate MCS functionality
  • Provide input into future MCS designs and technology transitions using COTs based solutions.
