Description
Description Location: Remote / Work-from-Home Compensation Range: $40,000 – $80,000 annually Role Overview: As a Controls Technician, you will travel to client sites and service, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair building automation (especially Delta Controls) systems, HVAC controls, and related electrical/control equipment. You will be a key player in keeping systems up and running and ensuring system reliability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair control systems and field devices (sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, VFDs, etc.). • Commission and startup control systems and integrate them with Delta Controls building automation systems. • Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on control hardware. • Respond to service calls and emergencies, sometimes after hours, to resolve system outages. • Work with project engineers to implement changes or retrofits on-site. • Document work performed: service reports, parts used, commissioning data, etc. • Maintain inventory of spare parts / tools in vehicle. • Communicate clearly with clients, managers, and team members on system status and recommendations. • Ensure compliance with safety codes and electrical / NEC regulations. Benefits & Perks • Full range of benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement plan, etc.) • Company vehicle • Paid time off, holidays, travel reimbursement Requirements • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in controls, HVAC, or a related field (more experience preferred). • Familiarity or hands-on experience with Delta Controls systems (programming, troubleshooting, integration) is a strong plus. • Solid understanding of control theory, sensors, actuators, control loops, and electrical wiring. • Ability to read electrical schematics, control drawings, mechanical drawings. • Proficiency with hand tools, multimeters, calibrators, test equipment. • Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills. • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel / drive to multiple client sites (company vehicle provided). • Good communication skills and ability to work independently. • Formal training or certification in HVAC controls or building automation systems. • Experience with BAS networks, BACnet, Modbus, etc. • Electrical license or related certification. • Experience with other control platforms beyond Delta Controls.
