Job Title: Convention Services Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Convention Services Manager (CSM) serves as the primary liaison between the hotel/resort/convention center and meeting/event planners. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of group events, conferences, and conventions from contract turnover through execution, ensuring client satisfaction while maximizing revenue and operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in convention services, event planning, or hotel operations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with event management software, property management systems (PMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for meeting planners after contract signing, building strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate all aspects of group functions, including room blocks, food & beverage, audiovisual, meeting room setup, décor, and other special requests.
  • Develop and distribute detailed event resumes and banquet event orders (BEOs) to operational departments.
  • Conduct site visits, pre-conference meetings, and post-event evaluations with clients.
  • Partner with Sales, Catering, and Operations teams to ensure seamless communication and execution of client needs.
  • Monitor event timelines, budgets, and billing accuracy to ensure profitability and compliance with contract terms.
  • Resolve on-site challenges quickly and professionally, ensuring a high level of guest and client satisfaction.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitive set offerings, and best practices to continuously enhance service standards.
