POSITION: CONVERSION SUPERVISOR

Reports to: CONVERSION, CONCEPT AND IMPROVEMENT PROJECT MANAGER
Direct Reports: This position supervises all Conversion production staff as outlined on the Company’s Organizational Chart.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Conversion Supervisor is responsible for supervising conversion employees by planning and assigning work, adjusting personnel levels to meet production requirements, analyzing, and resolving work problems, inspect materials to verify conformance with quality standards, and lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts within the department.
The Conversion Supervisor works closely with the Production Schedulers to ensure that products are produced/fabricated and shipped on time, and within budget. The key focus of this position will be to create and support a working environment and culture that continuously improves Quality, Productivity and Safety.

EDUCATION:

Post-Secondary Education in Manufacturing/Industrial/Operations Management (or equivalent experience in a related role).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing/production environment.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Direct working knowledge of production, operations and inventory management.
  • Moderate knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as Email and Internet applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, to communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and optimize projects in all their components: resources, financial, schedules, quality, productivity, safety.
  • Manage work tools: use, control, calibration, and purchasing.
  • Maintain key performance indicators specific to the business sector in line with Laminacorr standards.
  • Consistently enforce the factory rules.
  • Proactively address any barriers that could compromise ongoing projects through established processes.
  • Produce all reports necessary for the proper administration of projects and the conversion department.
