A Large Scottish firm in Central Edinburgh is keen to bring in a Legal Assistant to join its busy, friendly and close-knit Residential Property team!
EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED
- Do you have a basic understanding of the conveyancing process?
- Have you gained existing experience as a Legal Assistant?
Responsibilities:
Due to continued growth and expansion, the Residential Property team in Edinburgh is very busy and the team requires your support in helping fee earners with their busy caseloads of residential conveyancing files. You will assist with sales, purchases, transfers of titles, remortgages and discharges.
- Assist with the administrative elements for the opening of new clients including Client Load-up Forms, Letters of Engagement, Terms of Business and AML
- Finance administration associated with client transactions
- Produce reports and client information from case management system
- Request, prepare and order searches from Registers of Scotland and completing registration forms and LBTT returns
- Efficiently produce accurately typed and formatted documentation including letters, faxes, reports, articles, presentations and specialist forms and documents all in accordance with the firm’s format and policy, including dealing with dictation when required
- Co-ordinate and arrange travel requirements as and when required
- File management and supporting diary management
- Assist in reviewing and improving procedures necessary to ensure smooth running of the department
