JOB SUMMARY:

As a Cook 1 at Parkway Social, you will be a vital part of a dynamic, multi-outlet culinary team. This hybrid role includes working across various food and beverage outlets such as Ostin’s Casual Dining, Parkway Social Bar, L6 (Trendy/Contemporary Cuisine), and providing support for banquet events and hotel meal service at the Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites. You will be responsible for high-quality food preparation, presentation, and maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced, multi-outlet or hotel environment.
  • Red Seal Certification or Culinary Diploma an asset.
  • Banquet cooking experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and allergy protocols.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to various cuisines and service styles (casual, trendy, bar, banquet).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to standardized recipes across different outlets (casual dining, bar food, trendy cuisine).
  • Support banquet food preparation for weddings, meetings, and special events as required.
  • Execute meals for hotel guests as part of the breakfast and evening social service for Staybridge Suites and in-room dining for Holiday Inn.
  • Maintain knowledge of all food offerings, daily specials, and rotating menus across the outlets.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies; maintain an organized and clean workstation throughout the shift.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures in accordance with Public Health and company standards.

BANQUET-SPECIFIC DUTIES (AS NEEDED):

  • Support plated and buffet service for large groups (weddings, conferences, corporate events).
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down banquet kitchen stations.
  • Collaborate with banquet chefs and service teams for smooth service execution.
