What you will be doing: Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive service Prepare, cook and service all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards Able to interpret a BEO and will ask superior for guidance Strong knowledge of quantities needed for service and upcoming volumes Able to write a thorough and complete prep list Responding to guest requests and concerns in a personal, prompt and courteous manner Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage Participating in staff meetings and training Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies Other duties as assigned Qualifications Your experience and skills include: Previous kitchen experience an asset Creative and passionate about food and customer service Able to work in a high-pressure environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player A valid BC Food Safe certification Willing and able to work all shifts including AM, PM and overnight Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Constant standing and walking throughout shift Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps Additional Information Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
