A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE
At our Silverton Short Breaks service in Hamilton, we offer short breaks to children and young people with disabilities.
We work to reduce the impact of the disability on the child’s day to day life by providing support for them to participate, make choices, enjoy new experiences, make friendships and be part of their local community. At the same time parents and carers can have a much-needed break knowing their child is in a safe fun and enriching environment.
We are looking for someone who will plan and prepare the evening meals for approximately 5 young people who are in the service on each given night along with the staff supporting them. This will involve encouraging positive and healthy choices, ordering and stock control of the food and meal planning to an agreed budget. Most food will be cooked from fresh, and you will be responsible for preparing, cooking and washing up. We are a homely house and looking for someone who can prepare ‘family meals, serve and then clear up. Preparing food for the days you don’t work will also be involved, which helps over the weekend.
You’ll require a working knowledge of allergies and special dietary requirements. Food Hygiene certificate is desirable but not essential. Maintaining records to comply with food Hygiene standards is also part of the role.
PLEASE NOTE WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER VISA SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
There are five sections to complete: Personal Details, CV, Supporting Statement & Information, Equality & Diversity, Submission & Declaration.
