Description:

A working day will involve:

  • Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.
  • Preparing Resident’s meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
  • Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed

Aegis Parkview is a 79 bed facility situated on Drummond Street in Redcliffe. Drummond was a botanist and the four wings are named after native Australian plants.
Accommodation comprises of extra service and dementia care wings. All rooms are single with a large ensuite bathroom and air conditioning. The different wings all have their own lounge and dining areas with large individual courtyards. The facility is surrounded by well maintained gardens.Aegis Parkview has a theatre room with a large screen for movie days which is enjoyed by the residents.
A family room is provided for any family member who wishes to stay with the resident in times of illness.
As a Cook you are a valuable member of the team working under direction and support of the Chef Manager.

A working day will involve:

  • Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.
  • Preparing Resident’s meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
  • Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

  • Enjoys working with the elderly.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.
  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.

You should possess the following:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
  • Aged Care experience (highly regarded).
  • A high level of food safety knowledge.
  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
