The Alex Surf Club is going from strength to strength and with the best ocean views of any workplace on the Sunshine Coast, we are expanding our Team of Chefs to join the Surf Club.
We have a key position available for an experienced Cook or Chef to join our Bluff Bar and expand our great Tapas Menu. We are so busy and this is a newly created position to join our wonderful Team on the Sunshine Coast.

Your duties will include:

  • Full understanding of kitchen operations and coordinate kitchen activities
  • Work with the Chefs to develop new seasonal menus and make appropriate changes in the existing menu including changes in prices of food items for maintaining minimum overhead costs
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene accordance with regulatory standards
  • Ensuring occupational health and safety standards are always maintained and adhered by the kitchen staff
  • Ensuring the portion control, seasoning and garnishing of food is done appropriately and right portion of food is served to the customers
  • Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
  • Learning different styles and methods of cooking
  • Quality of food preparation and presentation is maintained all the time
  • Ensure the food stuff is preserved and stored in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities
  • Stock management including ordering, rotation, and wastage control

We have flexible working options available. Part-time, full-time and our Bluff Bar is open Thursday - Sunday, but if you’d like more hours, we have our Bistro and Seaside Kiosk which will need a hand over the Holidays.
