JOB DESCRIPTION:

Almage Community Centre for persons 50+ is a nonprofit organization offering diverse activities and the following meal programs:
ü Weekly community lunch served on site for 25 -35 members on Tuesdays.
ü Meals on Wheels Program once a week whereby 3 wholesome meals are prepared for approximately 25+ members.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Previous experience in a similar role preferred
2. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
3. Familiarity with food safety regulations
4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
6. MAPAQ certification (preferred)

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 per week

THIS IS A FOUR-DAY-PER-WEEK POSITION. AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED ON MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, AND THURSDAYS FROM 8:30 AM TO 4:00 PM, WITH ONE ADDITIONAL FLEXIBLE DAY DEDICATED TO SHOPPING FOR PRODUCE AND RELATED TASKS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ü Weekly Food Shopping
ü Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
ü Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner
ü Adhere to proper food handling and storage procedures
ü Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
ü Collaborate with other kitchen volunteers to ensure smooth operation
ü May be asked to perform some tasks not involving food preparation.
