COOK & KITCHEN LEADER - LICENSED EARLY LEARNING CENTER

Location: Oconee County, GA
Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour (based on education, credentials, and experience)

Our client, a licensed, privately owned early learning center in Oconee County, is looking for a dedicated Cook & Kitchen Leader who will play a vital role in creating a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for children. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this role within a Georgia-licensed early childhood center, candidates must have:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of food service/cooking experience in a licensed childcare center, school, or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of CACFP guidelines and safe food handling practices
  • ServSafe Certification (preferred, or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred, or ability to obtain)
Responsibilities

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and serve healthy meals/snacks aligned with USDA & CACFP nutritional guidelines
  • Oversee kitchen operations, including sanitation, menu planning, and food safety compliance
  • Maintain inventory, order supplies, and track costs with fiscal responsibility
  • Supervise and guide kitchen assistants to ensure smooth operations
  • Coordinate with teachers daily to confirm meal counts and special dietary needs
  • Provide flexible support by assisting with light administrative or classroom tasks during non-meal times
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment in line with Georgia DECAL licensing requirements
