We, the Mercure Hotel Cologne West, are among Accor's top conference hotels with 11 meeting rooms and offer a sophisticated and modern culinary experience with our F&B concept – in our à la carte restaurant, our hotel bar, and on the beautiful sun terrace. Our hotel has 191 rooms spread across five floors. In addition, we offer our guests an indoor pool, a fitness area, and a sauna.

Job description

Your responsibilities include:

• Preparation and appealing presentation of coffee break snacks, menus, buffets and à la carte dishes
• Independent management of your post in the kitchen
• Supporting the head chef with organization, ordering and stocking supplies
• Ensuring hygiene and quality standards according to HACCP
• Participation in the development of new dishes and seasonal offerings
• Close cooperation and communication with the other departments of our company
• Training and instruction of trainees and employees

Qualifications

What you should bring:

• A passion for cooking and a genuine sense of quality, taste and presentation.
• Completed training as a cook or a comparable qualification
• Professional experience in a similar position – you know how a post is organized and managed.
• A sense of responsibility, team spirit, and enjoyment in supporting and guiding others.
• A structured, clean and independent way of working – even when things get "heated"
• Good German skills, English skills are an advantage
