Location: Athlete Institute – Mono, Ontario
Reports to: Manager, Food & Beverage
Collaborates With: President | Director, Athletics | Coaches
Employment Type: 35-40hrs to week, On-Site
Salary: $22.00 an hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Cook to join our food services team predominantly servicing weekends and certain day shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to athletes, coaches, and customers of Athlete Institute. This role requires someone who can work independently, maintain high standards of food quality and safety, and create a welcoming dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals for athletes and customers on weekends.
  • Follow established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements for athletes.
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion control meet Athlete Institute standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory levels, assist with stock rotation, and communicate supply needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to athletes, staff, and visitors.
  • Support catering needs for events, tournaments, and team meals as required.
  • Clean dishes, tables and floors after each meal to ensure health and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Manager, Food & Beverage and other staff to ensure smooth food service operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen, cafeteria, or food service environment (preferred).
  • Food Handler Certification (required).
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust to varying needs of athletes and events.
  • Passion for sports, health, and nutrition is an asset.

Work Schedule

  • Predominantly weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and shifts during the week.
  • Additional shifts may be available during special events or peak times.
